HHBA EXTRA

This year something new and exciting will be offered through HHBA.  For Spring 2010 we will be expanding our program to offer extra baseball for those players who would like to play in some USSSA tournaments in the local area.  The season will run in conjunction with our regular season and all participants must all register and play in our traditional Dixie Youth recreational program. The schedule will be light enough not to interfere with the traditional program and as to not burn players out.  We will practice every Sunday and will try to schedule another practice during the week if the schedule fits.  We will play in one weekend tournament per month February through June.  There will be Saturday and Sunday tournaments but no overnight stays e.g. the longest distance of travel would be the Savannah area.  You will need to tryout for this team and your play will need to be at a level to accommodate playing in these USSSA tournaments.  We would like to have 10 players on each team.  If more than 12 players tryout in a specific age group there will be a selection and cut process.  Any player who tries out and does not make the team is encouraged to come out and join Sunday practices.

The 10U team is called the "Crossings Crushers" and will be coached by Dana Facenda and John Kaiser.  Tryouts for this team will be on Saturday January 30 from to 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Crossings Park.

For Dixie Boys the HHBA EXTRA program will include a Dixie Boys early session for those players who may not be playing on school baseball teams and would like to start playing baseball prior to our traditional April/May start.  We will have practices once a week and play a game on Saturdays until the regular seaon begins.  For more information on this program contact Steve Marbut at 912-441-5500.
