The Dixie Boys League is for players who turn 13 years old by April 30th. This League plays during our Spring Season which runs from March to early June and our Fall Season which runs from September to November. Teams play 7 inning games with 80-foot base paths and 54 foot mounds. Pitcher balks, lead offs and steals are part of the game. Players are allowed to use big barrel bats, no drop requirement, and wear metal cleats.
In the Spring, play is within the Low Country Dixie Boys League. This League is comprised of teams from Bluffton, Beaufort, Walterboro, Ridgeland, and Allendale. During the week, games are at home or against a nearby opponent so that everyone has time for school homework responsibilities. On the weekend, teams travel to the various opponent’s fields or host home games. The longest drive time is less than two hours ensuring that there is never the need to stay in a hotel. Registration fees cover all costs (no game, tournament, insurance or officiating fees) except for getting to the game.
In the Fall, play is at Crossings Park and consists of one practice and one game per week. Participation is open to anyone in Beaufort County.
