Thank you for visiting our website! Here is a bit more about or organization...
Dixie Youth Baseball of Hilton Head Island was started in 1978 by Randy McGarvey. The original league had 23 players, 2 coaches and played their games at the old Barker Field. At the time, Barker Field was known as “Gator” field because it was the home to the Gator Football Program.
In 1999, led by Coach Larry Page, our Dixie Youth Majors Team won the Dixie Youth World Series in Terrell Texas.
After Coach McGarvey’s retirement from Dixie Youth Baseball in 1999, David Anderson became Chairman of the Board and reorganized the program operationally and legally under the name Hilton Head Baseball Association.
In 2000, under the coaching leadership of Colonel John Parker, The Hilton Head Baseball Association won a second Dixie Youth Minors World Series Championship by defeating Alabama in the final game at Bedford Virginia.
Today, HHBA, features 2 seasons: The Dixie Youth Sponsored Spring Baseball program, and the Fall Recreational and Instructional League. Both seasons offer baseball for players 5-12. In the spring, we also offer Dixie Boys for our 13-15 year old players.
In addition to our Recreational basebal seasons, we offer spring and fall travel baseball through our Hurricanes Travel Program.
